According to a recent report, New Orleans Pelicans small forward Josh Hart may be ready for a change of scenery from his current team.

“There are other names worth watching: Denzel Valentine, Daniel Theis, Austin Rivers, Dante Exum, Reggie Bullock, Otto Porter Jr., Stanley Johnson and Josh Hart, who is one of [Larry] Nance’s best friends and, sources say, would like a fresh start,” wrote Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com regarding the free agent market.

Hart is a restricted free agent this offseason.

The 26-year-old has spent each of his last two seasons with the Pelicans after spending his first two NBA campaigns with the Los Angeles Lakers.

With New Orleans, Hart has averaged 9.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest over 112 games.

He is a decent three-point shooter, putting it in at a 34.8 percent career clip from deep.

Inconsistency has plagued Hart, who has shown flashes of exciting potential at times. He’s never been able to reach his ceiling as a player, but the Villanova University product presumably hopes it’s not too late to do so.

Hart missed the final 25 games of the 2020-21 regular season due to a torn ligament in his thumb.

The next time we see him, he could be wearing a new uniform.
