Ben Simmons’ agent says point guard will fix Brooklyn Nets’ issues

Ben Simmons’ agent — Bernie Lee — said that the 27-year-old will fix the Brooklyn Nets’ issues.

Simmons has played in just six of the Nets’ 42 regular-season games to this point and is averaging 6.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game while shooting 52.8 percent from the field.

His most recent appearance came in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 6, which was over two months ago. He finished with two points, 15 rebounds and four assists in 33 minutes of action.

The Nets have struggled to remain in the Eastern Conference playoff picture with Simmons out of the lineup for the past few months. At 17-25, the team owns the No. 11 seed in the conference and is one game behind the Atlanta Hawks for the No. 10. seed.

Brooklyn has arguably been playing its worst basketball of the season over the past few weeks, as evidenced by the team’s 2-8 record over its last 10 games. The Nets have won just one game since Jan. 7, with that win coming against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 19.

Cam Thomas led the way for the Nets in the scoring department with 33 points in 32 minutes of action. He also chipped in three rebounds and four assists in Brooklyn’s 18-point victory.

The Nets will try to avoid picking up their second straight loss when they take on the New York Knicks at home on Tuesday night.

The Knicks have been one of the hotter teams in the Eastern Conference lately, as they are riding a three-game winning streak and are winners of eight out of their last 10 games. But New York has been a mediocre road team so far this season, considering the team’s 12-12 road record right now.

While Simmons is a great rebounder and playmaker whose presence will surely help the Nets in those areas when he makes his return to the court, it might be an exaggeration to say that he is going to solve their issues.
