Ben Simmons may never hear the end of the criticism that he is currently facing for his tumultuous 2021-22 NBA season.
Despite being physically able to play for much of the season and part of a blockbuster trade that got him out of a bad situation on the Philadelphia 76ers, Simmons didn’t suit up for a single regular season or playoff game.
His Brooklyn Nets were swept in the first round of the playoffs at the hands of the Boston Celtics while he spent the majority of the series on the sideline wearing colorful outfits.
The latest NBA analyst to hurl an insult at Simmons is former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins. Perkins tried to express his opinion on the former All-Star by using an interesting metaphor.
It seems as though Perkins is basically saying that while everything seems to be great when it comes to Simmons as a player, there is a clear reason why he is not an attractive addition to any team.
That seems to be the case at the moment. While Simmons may be one of the most versatile players when he’s on the court, he seems unwilling to get back into the game at the moment. Beyond that, he has clearly become the kind of player that is a major off-court distraction.
It is really hard to know what the future holds for Simmons, and anything seems like a possibility at the moment. Surely, this story is far from over and will only continue to unravel going forward.
