Kevin Durant says his legacy has ‘never been stronger’

Kevin Durant is not one to shy away from answering criticisms that are thrown his way.

So, when a Twitter user took a shot at the Brooklyn Nets superstar by saying that his tendency to jump from team to team is impacting his legacy, he naturally answered. Durant even claimed that his legacy is stronger than it has ever been.

The former MVP is no doubt one of the best basketball players ever. He is an unstoppable offensive force, with his career average of 27.2 points per game currently ranking fourth in NBA history. Additionally, he is a two-time champion, as he helped the Golden State Warriors win two straight titles in 2017 and 2018.

After leaving Golden State in 2019, Durant decided to join the Nets and play with his good friend Kyrie Irving. He sat out the entirety of the 2019-20 season as he recovered from an Achilles tendon injury.

When he returned to the court the following season, the team was expected to compete for a championship. However, he and Irving missed a significant number of games due to injuries.

After a trade for James Harden during the season, the Nets finished the 2020-21 campaign with the No. 2 seed in the East. Unfortunately, their season ended after the Milwaukee Bucks eliminated them in the playoffs.

The following season, Brooklyn had to endure more turmoil. Durant again had to deal with the injury bug, and Irving was unable to play in many games because of his vaccination status. The organization also shipped Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline.

Following a disappointing 2021-22 campaign, Durant requested a trade from the Nets. But the Nets have still not found a deal they want, keeping the 12-time All-Star in a Nets uniform for now.
