According to some recent reporting from SB Nation’s NetsDaily, the expectation is that the Brooklyn Nets’ performance team will have some new faces this coming season.
Les Gelis, who served as the team’s director of sports medicine, along with John Felipe, who served as the team’s head trainer, reportedly won’t be returning to the organization.

The Nets didn’t give fans of the team a whole lot to write home about during the 2023-24 season. After winning 45 games during the 2022-23 regular season and qualifying for the 2023 NBA Playoffs, Brooklyn took a step back in the most recent campaign.
Led by the likes of Mikal Bridges, Cameron Johnson and Cam Thomas, the Nets won just 32 of their 82 regular-season contests. As a result, the team ended up as the No. 11 seed in the Eastern Conference, four games back of the Atlanta Hawks in the standings, who squeaked into the play-in tournament as the conference’s No. 10 team.
The Nets had one of the NBA’s worst offenses from a statistical standpoint last season. After all, Brooklyn averaged 110.4 points per game as a team, which ranked 25th out of 30 teams in the league. The squad also finished with an offensive rating of 112.4, per NBA.com, which ranked 23rd in the league.
Looking at Brooklyn’s roster from last season, it’s easy to see why the squad didn’t enjoy a lot of success on the offensive side of the ball. Only four players on the team — Bridges, Thomas, Johnson and Nic Claxton — averaged 10-plus points per game while suiting up in 50-plus regular-season games with the Nets, and only one player (Thomas) averaged 20-plus points per game.
Plus, the Nets are now without one of their best offensive players from last season. The New York Knicks traded Bojan Bogdanovic, Mamadi Diakite, Shake Milton and a number of draft picks to Brooklyn in exchange for a return headlined by Bridges, who is now under contract with the Knicks for the next two seasons.
