Report: James Harden ‘disappointed’ with Steve Nash’s coaching, doesn’t like living in Brooklyn

Based on a recent report, it sounds like James Harden of the Brooklyn Nets isn’t loving his current situation.

Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report recently dove into the reasons why Harden would be happy to find a new home next season.

It sounds like some of his issues with his current situation have to do with head coach Steve Nash’s coaching style as well as the location of the team. Beyond that, Harden apparently has issues with Kyrie Irving’s part-time duties with the team.

“Harden has been vocal to Nets figures and close contacts alike about his frustrations regarding Kyrie Irving’s part-time playing status,” Fischer wrote. “A recent injury to Kevin Durant has exacerbated the issue, leaving Harden to shoulder the majority of the offensive burden during Brooklyn home games.”

Many folks are frustrated by Irving’s part-time playing status, and Harden is obviously one of those people. Irving has missed the majority of the season due to his unwillingness to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Though he now plays in away games when he is able to, he has to miss games where mandates require players to be vaccinated.

On a separate note, Nash’s rotations are apparently part of the problem for Harden.

“Nets coach Steve Nash’s fluid rotations have also disappointed Harden, sources told B/R,” Fischer wrote. “Nash has favored hot-hand closing lineups, rather than a fixed crunch-time unit.

“His new city could also be an issue. According to multiple sources, Harden has not enjoyed living in Brooklyn, compared to his days as a central Houston magnate. Outside of the change in climate, the chasm between state taxes in New York versus Texas is quite obvious as well.”

Plenty of teams around the NBA would surely love to have Harden’s services. The 32-year-old is one of the top players in the league and would bring a lot of value to any given organization.

The Nets are undoubtedly one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference this season, and Harden has had a lot to do with that. It’ll be interesting to see if the team ends up achieving the goals that it had in mind before the season started.
