Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was in San Francisco for this year’s All-Star Weekend. He was selected as an All-Star for the sixth time in his pro career already. Tatum just recently turned 27 years old.
Tatum wasn’t among the quartet of players to participate in the 2025 AT&T Slam Dunk Contest, but his son Deuce still roasted him in a hilarious way in regards to the competition.

Orlando Magic guard Mac McClung won the contest yet again. He scored a perfect score of 50 on every one of his four dunks across two rounds. McClung is the first player ever to win the event in three consecutive years.
The elder Tatum might not be viewed as one of the NBA’s more spectacular dunkers, but he’s thrown down his fair share of impressive dunks during his time in the league. Namely, one of the highlights of his career to date came when he dunked on forward LeBron James back when James was a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018 Eastern Conference Finals.

With All-Star Weekend now in the rearview mirror, the elder Tatum is now focused on helping the Celtics become the first team to repeat as NBA champions in some time. The last time an NBA team won back-to-back titles came when the Golden State Warriors won in 2017 and 2018.
The elder Tatum certainly did a great job leading Boston in its win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, as he was probably the best player on the floor despite facing off against James and guard Luka Doncic.
The six-time All-Star finished with a game-high 40 points as well as 12 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one blocked shot. Boston won the contest in question by 10 points and snapped the Lakers’ lengthy winning streak at eight games.
The Celtics might be locked into the No. 2 seed in the East at this juncture, as the team is 7.5 games back of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the No. 1 seed and 5.5 games ahead of the No. 3 seed New York Knicks in the standings. Still, the elder Tatum and the Celtics seemingly could still benefit from finishing the 2024-25 regular season off on a high note.
