According to TMZ Sports, former Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce’s home in Los Angeles was reportedly robbed of over $100,000 in cash, a safe and watches.
“Paul Pierce is just the latest celebrity to fall prey to Los Angeles’ burglary epidemic…the former NBA superstar’s home was broken into Friday night, and the perpetrators got away with luxury watches and over $100k in cash,” TMZ Sports reported.
“Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports the 46-year-old 10x NBA All-Star’s pad was hit when Pierce wasn’t home, and a mind-boggling amount of personal treasure was stolen.
“Amongst the burglarized items were expensive watches, 6 figures in cash, and a safe…which police are currently trying to track down.”
Pierce is reportedly one of many celebrities whose property in Los Angeles has been robbed in recent years.
“While he’s the latest, he’s not the first big-named star to have their personal spaces violated, and their belongings stolen…it’s been an issue in the City of Angels for years,” TMZ Sports reported.
“Post Malone, Bella Thorne, Yasiel Puig, Rihanna, Quentin Tarantino, Drake and so many other stars have fallen victim.”
Additionally, in February of 2022, over $1 million worth in belongings were stolen from Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green’s property in Los Angeles.
“Warriors forward Draymond Green’s L.A. house was ransacked during Super Bowl weekend … and over $1,000,000 worth of stuff — watches, jewelry, and other property — was stolen, TMZ Sports has learned,” the site reported.
“Law enforcement sources tell us 31-year-old Green — who attended Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles — came home later that night and discovered someone had busted their way into his home.
“Our sources tell us the alleged perps entered Green’s residence through his window…and made off with watches, jewelry, and other personal property.”
Pierce played for four teams — the Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers — across his 19 seasons in the NBA, but he spent the lion’s share of his career in Boston.
The 46-year-old spent 15 seasons with the Celtics, and during that time, he earned 10 All-Star appearances and helped lead Boston to its 17th title in franchise history back in 2008.
Pierce won the 2008 NBA Finals MVP award after he and the Celtics eliminated Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. He averaged 21.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 39.3 percent from 3-point range.
The forward played his final season with the Celtics in the 2012-13 season, when he averaged 18.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game on 38.0 percent from deep across 77 appearances with the team in the regular season.
After spending more than a decade in Boston, Pierce bounced around from team to team during the twilight of his NBA career, as he played for three teams across his final four seasons in the league.
In his final NBA season — the 2016-17 season, when he was a member of the Clippers — he averaged 3.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists in just 25 games played (seven starts) in the regular season.
In 2021, Pierce was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
It’s unfortunate that Pierce’s name can now be added to the lengthy list of famous individuals who have been victims of robberies recently. With any luck, the individual or individuals responsible for the crime will soon be identified and put to justice.
