Boston Celtics big man Robert Williams reportedly is nearing a return, and he could come back to the Celtics’ lineup for Game 3 or 4 of their first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets.
Williams is the anchor of Boston’s defense, but he has been out of the lineup after suffering a meniscus injury late in the regular season.
Despite Williams’ absence, the Celtics have gotten out to a 2-0 lead over the Nets in the first round.
During the regular season, Williams averaged 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.2 blocks per game while shooting 73.6 percent from the field.
Game 3 of the series is set for Saturday night.
