Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving reportedly is being sued by a health and wellness company for nearly $400,000, according to TMZ.

“The plaintiffs, Elite Mind Solutions, allege Irving hired them and their high-profile therapist, Natasha McCartney, in the spring of 2024 to work a family retreat the basketball player was putting on for friends and family from June 28 to July 2,” TMZ wrote.

“Initially, the lawsuit states, Irving had said about 50-60 people would attend. But the plaintiffs allege just days before the event began, Irving informed them it’d be close to 115. The suit states when they arrived at the retreat, there ended up being around 150 people there.

“Nonetheless, the company claims in the suit it performed all of the therapeutic exercises and sessions they promised.”

According to TMZ, someone also tragically passed away during the event, and Elite Mind Solutions alleges that it performed “crisis management services as well as grief counseling.”

The company is alleging that Irving did not pay the invoices that totaled $390,710.

“They’re now suing Irving — who’s made over $300 million in his NBA career — for breach of contract and more … seeking to obtain the money they say they’re owed plus interest and attorneys’ fees,” TMZ wrote.

Irving, who is currently in the second season of a three-year, $120 million contract that he signed with Dallas, certainly can afford the services given the massive earnings he’s made in his NBA career. Just this season, Irving is set to make $41 million from Dallas.

While the star guard may have to deal with this issue off the court, he’s been playing at a high level for the Mavericks on the court.

Irving is averaging 24.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game this season while shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 46.6 percent from beyond the arc. Irving’s 3-point percentage is currently the highest of his NBA career.

After making the NBA Finals last season, Irving and the Mavericks are hoping to go on another deep playoff run this season. Dallas has gotten off to a fine start, winning 13 of its first 21 games.

As of late, the Mavericks have been playing great basketball winning eight of their last 10 matchups. They are currently on a four-game winning streak and hold the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.

Irving and Luka Doncic have formed one of the best duos in the NBA in Dallas, and the Mavericks are hoping that the former No. 1 overall pick can continue to play at a high level for the rest of the season.

While he hasn’t earned an All-Star selection since the 2022-23 season, Irving is making a case to be picked this season.

The Mavericks’ next matchup in the 2024-25 season will take on place on Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.
