While the president wasn’t in attendance, Ivanka Trump and her family were in San Francisco for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game and seemingly had some special access.

In an Instagram post, she recapped the experience with photos and videos.

In an Instagram story, she thanked Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic for getting her son to turn around after he was distracted by some of the All-Stars around him.

Sunday’s NBA All-Game drew mixed reviews. Since the event has had issues in recent years with competitiveness and interest, the NBA tried something new this season, holding a four-team tournament instead of having just one game.

The tournament has some fun moments on Sunday and might’ve added a little bit of competitive flare, but many felt like there was still a lack of energy and juice. The event also had numerous stoppages which seemingly bothered some players.

In the end, the team managed by NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal came out on top to win the tournament. O’Neal’s team featured players like Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving and others.

Curry took home MVP honors, a nice storyline for the Golden State Warriors star since the festivities took place in the Bay Area. He is now a two-time All-Star Game MVP as his decorated career likely gets closer to the finish line.

The NBA could opt to keep experimenting with its All-Star Game format moving forward until it finds a solution that consistently offers an entertaining product. Until then, the event will likely continue having a reputation as something that isn’t what it used to be.

The NBA world can now turn its attention to the remainder of the 2024-25 regular season and eventually the playoffs. With the championship race seemingly wide open this season, the stretch run should be exciting for fans.

The league’s regular-season action will resume with one game on Wednesday and a larger slate of games on Thursday.
