Denver Nuggets star guard Jamal Murray suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in Monday night’s loss to the Golden State Warriors.
“Nuggets guard Jamal Murray has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee. He will be out indefinitely,” the team’s official site announced.
Murray went down hard after a drive to the basket with just 50 seconds left in last night’s game.
The injury will end Murray’s season, and it certainly puts him in jeopardy for missing much of the 2021-22 campaign as well.
The Nuggets currently hold the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference with a 34-20 record, but they will be facing an uphill battle without Murray.
Monte Morris will likely slide into the starting lineup as the Nuggets try to figure out their new rotation.
This season, Murray is averaging 21.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
He was a huge factor last season in leading Denver to the Western Conference Finals.
