Yet another Michael Porter Jr. brother has been accused of wrongdoing, this time in Missouri

Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr.’s brother Jevon was reportedly arrested in the state of Missouri on Friday night on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

“Jevon Porter, a former Pepperdine standout and the younger brother of Denver Nuggets star Michael Porter Jr., was arrested Friday night in Missouri on suspicion of DWI, Missouri State Sgt. Kyle Green confirmed to ESPN,” wrote Myron Medcalf.

“Porter, 20, was released on summons and not booked into jail in Boone County, where the incident occurred, according to Green. The news of Porter’s arrest was first reported by Power Mizzou.

“According to Green, Porter was stopped for speeding before his DWI arrest.”

Though the news is still fresh, it is known that Loyola Marymount University — where Porter recently transferred to — is already looking into the situation.

“We are aware of recent reports in the media and are gathering information about the matter,” the school said in a statement to ESPN.

This news comes on the heels of Jontay Porter, another brother within the family, receiving a ban from the NBA following an investigation that revealed he had bet on games, influenced outcomes and leaked information to bettors.

Another incident related to yet another brother within the family, Coban Porter, took place recently as well. Coban Porter was sentenced to six years in prison stemming from a drunk-driving accident that killed a woman in Colorado last year.

According to police records, Coban Porter recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.19 following the deadly crash, more than twice the legal limit.

It seems unfortunate that three of Porter Jr.’s brothers have fallen upon such tough times, but it is also hard to ignore that these tough times appear to be of their own making. For that reason, it is likely that not many fans hold much sympathy for the three young men.

These dramatic and disappointing stories have seemed to overshadow the generally positive stories related to Porter Jr. as of late. The talented forward had an incredible series in his Denver Nuggets’ first-round playoff matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers.

In the five-game affair, Porter Jr. averaged 22.8 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He shot a ridiculous 55.3 percent from the field and 48.8 percent from the 3-point line.

Though that series ended in a 4-1 decision for the defending champion Nuggets, each game was highly competitive. The Nuggets came back from large deficits in each of their four wins. Porter Jr. was a big reason why.

Still, as the Nuggets’ playoff push continues, it will be interesting to see if all of these off-court distractions end up impacting Porter Jr.’s game.
