Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey was recently accused of having a sexual relationship with an underage girl.

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant called out ESPN’s Malika Andrews and seemingly accused her of being biased against Black people, asking her why she hadn’t said anything about the Giddey allegations.

Back during the 2023 NBA Draft, Andrews mentioned that Miller — who was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 2 overall pick — was connected to a murder that his former teammate allegedly committed on Jan. 15. Miller was never charged with a crime, however.

Miller is off to a promising start to his NBA career with the Hornets franchise. Across 14 appearances so far this season, he is averaging 14.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 47.2 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from behind the 3-point line.

The 21-year-old is averaging the third-most points per game of any rookie this season. Only San Antonio Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama (19.2) and Oklahoma City Thunder big man Chet Holmgren (18.1) are averaging more points per game.

It’s worth noting that Holmgren was selected back in the 2022 NBA Draft but missed the entirety of last season with a right foot injury, so he is still technically a rookie.

In a loss to the New York Knicks back on Nov. 18, Miller put together arguably the best performance of his rookie season to this point. In 34 minutes of playing time, Miller dropped a season-high 29 points while shooting 10-of-15 from the floor and 5-of-7 from 3-point range.

He also grabbed three rebounds and dished out a pair of assists in a game the Hornets lost by 14 points.

Miller didn’t lead the Hornets in scoring against the Knicks though. Star floor general LaMelo Ball scored a team-high 34 points to go along with nine assists and five rebounds in 36 minutes of play.

It’s debatable as to whether Bryant calling out Andrews was justified. She hasn’t exactly stayed mum on the Giddey allegations like Bryant claimed over X (formerly known as Twitter), as she did comment on them.

It’ll be interesting to see if Andrews ends up responding to Bryant’s comments.
