On Tuesday, Donald Trump bashed the NBA for protesting the national anthem.
He even alleged that the league is subservient to China.
The NBA has been extremely active in social justice matters since the death of George Floyd, a Black man who died at the hands of police in late May.
In the aftermath of the outcry, the league has encouraged players to use their platforms to incite positive change. Furthermore, the NBA has allowed players to don social justice messages on the backs of their jerseys.
Numerous players have participated in protests, spearheaded new organizations and much more.
However, it seems that players kneeling during the national anthem has crossed the line for multiple viewers, including Trump. In fact, Trump pledged not to watch any NBA games as a result.
Nonetheless, players haven’t appeared to be bothered by the Trump’s displeasure. As a matter of fact, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James said players could care less about his claim.
The NBA is in the midst of the resumption of 2019-20 campaign in Orlando, Fla.
