During Game 1 of the second-round playoff series between the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors stalwart Draymond Green was mesmerized by the wonders of superstar Kevin Durant.
One hater on Twitter responded to Green’s praise by insinuating they could have still been teammates had they not clashed in Golden State.
Of course, Green pounded back and defended both himself and Durant while throwing some shade at the troll.
Durant, 32, played with Green for three years on the Warriors, from 2016 to 2019.
Along with sharpshooters Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, they went to the NBA Finals every year throughout that span and captured back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018.
However, the team started experiencing some noticeable tension during 2018-19 campaign.
Furthermore, Durant got injured during the 2019 postseason. There was some controversy about whether the Warriors rushed Durant back from an injury. He suffered a devastating Achilles injury in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals, which the Warriors ended up losing to the Toronto Raptors.
The two-time Finals MVP bolted for Brooklyn the ensuing summer. All-Stars Kyrie Irving and James Harden are also playing in Brooklyn.
Now, Durant is healthy and helping guide the Nets through their postseason journey. They hold a 1-0 lead against the Bucks in their best-of-seven series.
