Earlier this season, Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green missed about two months of action due to injury, and he is not happy with how he has performed since his return.
He first got back on the floor in a March 14 win over the Washington Wizards. Since that win, the Warriors have won just one of their last seven games.
Green has played in five of those games, and all five were losses.
While speaking on a recent episode of his podcast, Green admitted that he has not played up to his standards in recent outings.
“The reality is I’ve been terrible,” Green said. “I’ve been terrible defensively. I’ve been terrible offensively. That’s just what it is. … I’ll be 100 percent honest: I’ve been extremely frustrated and aware of how we look when I’m on the court.”
This season, Green is averaging 7.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field. He has appeared in a total of 40 games. It’s no secret that he’s a key ingredient to any potential Warriors success.
Thanks to Golden State’s recent losing spell, the Warriors have started to lose some ground in the Western Conference standings. Although they currently sit in the No. 3 spot in the West, the teams right behind them are within striking distance if the Warriors keep losing.
Surely, Green will look to turn things around quickly so that he and his squad can be playing their best basketball once the playoffs begin. The Warriors have six games left in the regular season.
