Here’s Who the Golden State Warriors Are Looking to Target With Their No. 2 Draft Pick

The Golden State Warriors, last season’s runner-up, finished with the worst record in the league this season. They also ended up with the second overall pick in this year’s NBA draft.

The front office has plenty of options in deciding on what to do with that valuable draft pick. According to an NBA insider, if the Warriors decide to keep the pick instead of trading it, they will look to select a wing.

This would certainly be an interesting choice as the wing does not seem to be a position of need at the moment for Golden State. Unless there are major roster changes, the team already has Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins slotted to start at shooting guard and small forward, respectively.

But if it is indeed the case, there are several players the Warriors could look at.

Some of the wing prospects atop many draft boards include the University of Georgia’s Anthony Edwards, Israeli-Serbian Deni Avdija and Auburn University’s Isaac Okoro. Even the University of Dayton’s Obi Toppin can play small forward.

Regardless of what the Warriors do with their 2020 first-round selection, they are still expected to be championship contenders, especially with their core of Stephen Curry, Thompson and Draymond Green roaring to make comebacks next season.
