Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant will play in his first regular season game since early 2019 on Tuesday against his former team, the Golden State Warriors.

On a recent episode of the Dubs Talk podcast, Durant shared his admiration for the Warriors and the bond he’ll always have with the organization.

“When you see guys you won a championship with and you have long playoff runs with, you have a different connection,” Durant said. “I’m very grateful for my time in the Bay Area, and I’ll always be a Warrior in my heart”

Durant, 32, infamously departed the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Warriors in the summer 2019.

Although Durant drew a ton of hate for joining the historic Warriors, he enjoyed plenty of success alongside Warriors stars Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.

During his time in Golden State, Durant captured back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018. The All-Star won NBA Finals MVP awards during both of those victories.

As a member of the Warriors, Durant collected 25.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game.
