Although Kevin Durant’s time with the Golden State Warriors was very successful, it ended on a sour note when he left after three seasons amid rumors he wasn’t getting along with teammates.
He recently opened up about how he wasn’t particularly friends with anyone on that team, and that he joined the Warriors merely because he respected their greatness and production.
The Warriors had won the NBA title in 2015 and came within one victory of repeating as champs in 2016 when Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder to join them.
It was seen as a weak move by many, but one could also argue that the Warriors needed him to win the next two championships.
In 2017, Golden State got past a similarly stacked Cleveland Cavaliers team in the Finals, and in ’18, they barely scraped past the Houston Rockets in the Western Conference Finals.
After his team lost the 2019 world title to the Toronto Raptors, Durant headed east to team up with Kyrie Irving on the Brooklyn Nets, who are now favored by some to win it all.
