Leaked audio reveals extent of Chris Paul’s heated exchange with Scott Foster from Warriors-Suns game

Golden State Warriors floor general Chris Paul was ejected from Wednesday’s game against the Phoenix Suns by referee Scott Foster after picking up two technical fouls.

A video was leaked of Paul’s interaction with Foster that led to the former’s ejection.

After the game, Paul said that the ejection from Foster was “personal.”

Without Paul in the lineup for the entire second half, the Warriors lost to the Suns by eight points to fall to 7-9 on the season. Point guard Stephen Curry had one of his worst performances of the season so far in the loss, seeing as how he scored just 16 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field and 1-of-8 shooting from behind the 3-point line.

Since starting the season out with an excellent 5-1 record, the Warriors have lost eight out of their last 10 games. They now own the 11th seed in the Western Conference, which means that they wouldn’t even qualify for the play-in tournament if the season ended today.

The team’s only win since Nov. 8 came against Dillon Brooks and the Houston Rockets back on Nov. 20. The Warriors picked up a five-point win behind a solid performance from wing Klay Thompson. Thompson dropped 20 points while shooting 7-of-16 from the floor and knocked down five 3-pointers for Golden State in what was arguably his best game of the season to this point.

But Curry dropped the most points on the team against Houston with 32. He also ended up with five rebounds, one assist and four turnovers in 35 minutes of playing time.

Big man Alperen Sengun led the Rockets in scoring with 30 points while shooting 13-of-23 from the field and 2-of-3 from behind the 3-point line.

Foster and Paul seemingly have a rocky relationship, meaning it would make sense for the NBA to avoid having the former referee the latter’s games as much as possible.

Paul and the Warriors will be back in action when they take on Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs in an In-Season Tournament game on Friday.
