Golden State Warriors forward Kelly Oubre Jr. has been out of the lineup with a wrist injury, but he is “desperately” trying to play in the postseason.
Oubre, 25, is in his first season with the Warriors after they traded for him this past offseason.
He has missed the team’s last eight games with the injury, but the Warriors have gone 6-2 and climbed into the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.
Golden State has clinched a berth in the league’s play-in tournament, and it would certainly welcome Oubre back to the lineup as it tries to win to get into the playoffs.
This season, Oubre is averaging 15.4 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 43.9 percent from the field.
The Warriors are looking at a potential first play-in game with the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers, and they would love to have Oubre on the floor to help defend superstar LeBron James.
