Texas is in the midst of a historic and tragic power outage which has led to water, food and heat shortages.
However, Texas senator Ted Cruz believed it was an ideal time to take a vacation to Cancun.
So, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr took to Twitter to torch Cruz for his decision.
This isn’t the first time Kerr has voiced his frustrations with politicians. He spoke out numerous times about former President Donald Trump during his presidency.
Cruz issued a statement after the photos of him in the airport and on the airplane went viral.
“With school canceled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends,” Cruz said. “Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”
Kerr wasn’t alone in berating the senator. Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett gave his opinion on the situation in a CNN interview.
Furthermore, Texas Democrats have made it clear that they want Cruz to resign for his actions.
Amid all the criticism, Texas is still enduring a massive power outage due to severe weather conditions.
