The Houston Rockets will not have superstar Russell Westbrook available for the first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs.
Westbrook, 31, has had a rough time since the NBA decided to restart the 2019-20 season. He is suffering a setback after a recent MRI revealed a right quadriceps strain.
In addition, the guard was one of the NBA players who contracted the dangerous novel coronavirus.
The Rockets will play the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs.
Of course, both teams made a huge a deal last summer centered around Westbrook. He was exchanged for All-Star Chris Paul and other draft assets.
On the season, Westbrook is putting up 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. He is one of the most explosive players in the game.
The Thunder are the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference.
