It’s no secret that Houston Rockets disgruntled superstar James Harden is looking to be moved to a contender.
One executive told Howard Beck of Sports Illustrated that Harden doesn’t have the mentality in order to a win a championship.
“I don’t think he is,” said a veteran executive with an Eastern Conference team on Harden’s willingness to sacrifice. “James is like Allen Iverson: He wants to win his way and put up historical numbers while he’s winning. I would never question their desire to win, but they all want to win on their terms.”
Harden, 31, has a made a name for himself with brilliant offensive performances.
The 2018 MVP has led the league in scoring numerous times. In addition, he’s No. 8 on the all-time list for most triple-doubles in NBA history
In his time with the Rockets, Harden has career averages of 29.7 points, 7.7 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game. Yet, the Rockets have never made to the NBA Finals with Harden on the roster.
Iverson, 45, made it to the 2001 NBA Finals, where his Philadelphia 76ers faced an overpowering Los Angeles Lakers squad.
