Brooklyn Nets guard James Harden will be forever immortalized in Houston Rockets history.

Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta revealed to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle that the franchise will retire the superstar’s No. 13 jersey.

“James Harden will always be a Rocket,” said Fertitta. “Of course, we will retire his jersey. He made my first three years of owning this franchise unforgettable. The success he brought this franchise over eight years and the memories he created for our fan base/community [are] truly remarkable.”

Harden, 31, played for the Rockets from 2012 to 2021.

The veteran gathered several prominent records and accomplishments in his time in Houston. Most notably, Harden captured the 2018 MVP award.

In addition, Harden led the organization to the playoffs every full season he played for the Rockets. The franchise was one win away from making it to the 2018 NBA Finals.

All in all, Harden averaged 29.6 points, 7.7 assists and 6.0 boards per game as a member of the Rockets. He was traded to the Nets earlier this year.

The All-Star makes his return to Houston on Wednesday.
