One player who could be on his way to a new team prior to the trade deadline is Houston Rockets forward P.J. Tucker.
However, it doesn’t look like Tucker will be available for a couple of future draft picks.
According to a recent report, the Rockets want a player, not draft picks, in exchange for Tucker.
“There’s a lot of interest among contenders in Tucker who’s in the last year of his deal,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said.
Wojnarowski then clarified what the Rockets will be looking for in any deal.
“One thing I’m told is Houston wants back not picks, but a player that they can plug back into their lineup,” he said.
So far this season, Tucker is averaging 4.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Though the production doesn’t necessarily jump off the stat sheet, Tucker is known as a consummate professional and hard-nosed player on the court.
It has already been reported that the Los Angeles Lakers may be interested in the veteran. Several other teams are thought to be sniffing around as well.
It will be interesting to see how the market for him heats up as the trade deadline approaches.
