James Harden has caused quite a bit of drama over the last few weeks.
As a result it appears that his days with the Houston Rockets may be numbered.
Recently, Harden had reportedly been spotted partying it up in a club. There have also been reports that he has no interest in playing for new Rockets head coach Stephen Silas.
Now, former NBA player Stephen Jackson has called Harden out for his behavior.
“The Rockets finally get a young Black coach, a young Black coach get an opportunity, and you don’t want to show up to camp. You don’t want to play for him. How that look?” Jackson asked in an Instagram video. “And you wonder why every time a Black coach get a job, they put him in the bulls— situation. Look at what you doing.
“What a real one would do is go play for that Black coach and make him look good and build with John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins, some real ones. But obviously you want to chase rappers around.”
Jackson has been outspoken on issues related to equality for Black Americans for much of the past year.
While much of his work takes place away from the basketball court these days, his passions seemed to cross on this occasion.
As for Harden, he’s become quite adept at not responding to outside criticism.
Only time will tell if this instance proves to be any different.
