J.J. Redick calls out LeBron James after catching him in a lie

LeBron James and J.J. Redick recently started a podcast together that has captured the attention of just about everyone in the basketball world.

The latest episode dropped on Wednesday, and a pretty funny interaction between the two occurred as Redick seemed to catch James in a small lie.

“Sometimes there’s old clips of me that I watch or come across my timeline on social,” James said.

That’s when Redick decided to interject.

“Hold on, bro, it’s okay,” said Redick. “… We all watch our own highlights on YouTube. LeBron. LeBron, you’ve never gone on YouTube?”

James started defending himself after Redick called him out.

“I see the clips sometimes,” James said as he attempted to defend himself. “I don’t just go online and look up LeBron James highlights. … Yes, I have (gone on YouTube to watch my own highlights). Of course I have.”

The four-time champ then explained the main reason a player would search up his own highlights on YouTube.

“The No. 1 reason you do that is when you hit a little slump or whatever,” James said. “You like, ‘Where’s my game at?’ Oh, YouTube is the perfect place to find your game.”

Despite being arguably the best player in NBA history, James has earned a reputation for seemingly fabricating about some things over the years. It’s turned into a bit of a meme on social media.

For example, the future Hall of Famer claimed that he told friends that Kobe Bryant would score 70 points the night he scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors.

James continues to provide tons of entertainment on and off the court for fans all over the world. The new podcast with Redick has received lots of positive reviews and appears to be on its way to becoming one of the most popular out there.

While the 20-time All-Star is undoubtedly happy about the podcast’s success, he’s likely more focused on helping the Los Angeles Lakers make it back to the playoffs this season.

The Lakers currently sit in ninth place in the Western Conference with a 44-33 record, but could end up nabbing a top-six seed. They are just 1.5 games back of the sixth-seeded Phoenix Suns.

Los Angeles’ next game is on Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, one of James’ former teams.
