In a recent clip that also featured streamer Kai Cenat and comedian Druski, fellow comedian Kevin Hart accused Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James’ son Bryce of lying on the subject of his cooking chops.

The younger James initially said that he “can cook a lot.” When he was asked exactly what he can cook, he provided the following response.

“I mean — pasta, steak, Alfredos, the good stuff,” the younger James said.

Hart then accused the younger James of lying about his cooking expertise.

“I’ma tell you what I’m really good at,” Hart began. “I’m really good at recognizin’ a liar when I see one. That boy just lied. When he said, ‘Pasta, steak,’ he didn’t give you any type of specifics. He didn’t say, ‘Man, I’m a rib eye guy. I’m a bone-in guy. I can get on the grill.’ Yeah, he said, ‘Steak.'”

Asked to provide an example, the younger James said he can cook Wagyu steak, and when Hart asked how exactly he goes about cooking it, the youngster was seemingly at a loss for words.

A running joke exists about the younger James’ father possibly having a tendency to fabricate things. There are video compilations online of the elder James perhaps stretching the truth at times.

The younger James is trying to become the third member of his family to compete in the best basketball league in the world: the NBA. Of course, the elder James has already cemented himself as one of the most talented players ever to step foot on an NBA court.

The league’s current oldest player is a four-time NBA champion, four-time MVP, 20-time All-Star and 20-time All-NBA selection. He’s also amid the best 22nd season from any player in the history of the league, as he’s averaging 22.9 points, 8.2 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game across 18 games played with the Lakers so far.

The younger James’ brother Bronny is the other member of the James family who has played in the NBA. Bronny James was drafted by the Lakers with a second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, though he’s played in only six of the team’s 18 regular-season contests to this point, with his most recent appearance coming against the Toronto Raptors back on Nov. 10.

Bronny James has also played in two games for the Lakers’ G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, in the 2024-25 campaign. Across two appearances for South Bay, he has averaged 5.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 block per game.

Perhaps Bryce James will soon follow in the footsteps of his family members and join the NBA, but he still has some work to do to reach that milestone. He’s 17 years old and has yet to graduate high school.
