Skip Bayless implies that his wife comes 2nd to watching LeBron play basketball

Longtime ESPN and Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless revealed recently that he told his wife that she will come second to his career.

Bayless specifically mentioned Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, saying that it’s “rare” that he’d miss a game played by the four-time champion.

Bayless certainly is dedicated to his craft, and it’s what has helped him amass over three million followers on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter).

During his career, Bayless has been very critical of James, and he’s let his opinions be known on television and on social media.

He’s claimed that James doesn’t have a “clutch gene” – even though the Lakers star has won four titles with three different franchises – and shared many more takes about one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

Bayless recently shared that James has not moved up his list of the greatest players in NBA history, putting the 20-time All-Star at No. 9.

In addition to that, this summer, he boldly claimed that he’d rather have Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant in big games over James.

Bayless has certainly made an impressive career by questioning the greatness of James, and it’s not surprising that he’s put his career first given how far he’s made it in the media business.

After spending several years at Fox and hosting his show “Undisputed,” Bayless left FS1 to pursue other career opportunities.

It’s possible that chasing new opportunities will allow him to spend more time with his wife.

As for James, he’ll look to keep his biggest critic busy by continuing his NBA career in his 22nd season.

James is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, and he’s looking to lead the Lakers back to the playoffs after a disappointing first-round exit last season. After winning the NBA Finals in the 2019-20 season, James has only led the Lakers to one Western Conference Finals appearance since.

Los Angeles opens the 2024-25 season on Tuesday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
