Stephon Marbury says he’s made a lot of mistakes but never attended a Diddy party like LeBron

This week, former NBA star Stephon Marbury became one of the latest people to criticize Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James for his past relationship with disgraced rapper Diddy, who is facing allegations of sexual abuse and other wrongdoings.

Before the rapper fell from grace, James once made a comment about Diddy’s now-infamous parties.

Marbury remarked on X that while he’s made his share of mistakes in life (he’s been arrested for driving under the influence and also committed adultery), at least he never attended a Diddy party like some think James did.

Marbury was arrested in early 2002 when he was a member of the Phoenix Suns organization. Allegedly, he was clocked at 75 miles per hour in a 50 zone and had a blood alcohol level around twice the legal limit. Marbury eventually spent 10 days in jail.

The two-time All-Star has a track record of being critical of James. Back in August, he claimed that James shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath as Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan, who owns the most scoring titles of any player in the history of the NBA with 10. Marbury recently revealed that he lost “all respect” for James due to some 2007 comments he made.

Earlier this week, UFC star Colby Covington also took a shot at James for his previous association with Diddy and said that he hopes the NBA veteran gets “locked up in the same cell with Diddy.”

James is in his 22nd season in the NBA and just the second player ever to log that many seasons in the league. Former NBA veteran Vince Carter also spent that many seasons in the league, and he retired after he spent the 2019-20 campaign playing for the Atlanta Hawks.

The 39-year-old James has missed each of the Lakers’ last two games, which came against the Portland Trail Blazers on Dec. 8 and Minnesota Timberwolves on Dec. 13. Los Angeles beat Portland sans James but lost to the Timberwolves by a final score of 97-87. The future Hall of Famer has been away from the team due to personal reasons.

James’ next chance to make his return to the court will come when the Lakers take on the Memphis Grizzlies this weekend. The Grizzlies own the second-best record in the Western Conference at the moment at 18-8, and the team has won each of its past four contests.
