Report: Paul George Faced ‘Eye Rolls and Bewilderment’ When He Preached to Clippers After Collapse

The Los Angeles Clippers suffered an embarrassing collapse against the Denver Nuggets in their second-round series this postseason.

While Clippers superstar Paul George attempted to keep his teammates motivated following their defeat, he was reportedly met with disdain and disappointment.

“In the postgame locker room Tuesday night, George was preaching to teammates to remain committed, for all the players to return to the team this offseason and stay ready to make another run,” Shams Charania of The Athletic reported. “It was met by some eye rolls and bewilderment, sources said, because George did not back up his words with action in the series and the team has multiple free agents with decisions to make.”

The Clippers were expected to meet the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. After all, they were up 3-1 on the Nuggets in the second round.

Yet, the Nuggets stormed back in incredible fashion to upset the Clippers.

George, 30, was a huge reason why the Clippers were unable to advance forward. The veteran collected just 10 points on 4-of-16 shooting from the field in the Clippers’ Game 7 loss to the Nuggets.

As a result, it makes total sense why George’s teammates were displeased by his attempt to motivate them following their colossal disintegration.

The shooting guard averaged 20.2 points, 6.1 boards and 3.8 assists during the Clippers’ 2020 postseason run.

The Clippers have a huge offseason ahead of them.
