Report: Ja Morant suspended from all Memphis Grizzlies activities after appearing to flash gun yet again on Instagram Live

It doesn’t seem like Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant learned his lesson from one of the biggest mistakes of his life.

During a recent live stream on Instagram, he appeared to flash a gun.

As a result, the Grizzlies star has been suspended from all team activities.

Considering what the 23-year-old went through earlier this year, one would have thought that he’d have learned to be more careful.

In early March, Morant came under heavy fire for showing a firearm on Instagram Live while at a Colorado nightclub. The aftermath of the incident included an eight-game punishment for the point guard and a police investigation that ended with him fortunately avoiding criminal charges.

Morant also reportedly enrolled in a counseling program in Florida before eventually making his way back to the team.

His indiscretion may have hurt the Grizzlies, who lost in the first round of the playoffs this season to the Los Angeles Lakers. Memphis finished with the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, but his absence may have affected the squad’s chemistry, as it finished the last seven contests of the regular season with a 3-4 record before struggling in the playoffs.

Against the Lakers, Memphis looked outclassed, losing in six games and getting routed by 40 points in the last match. Morant had a forgettable Game 6, as he put up just 10 points on a 3-for-16 shooting clip. Over five appearances in the series, he averaged 24.6 points and 7.0 assists per contest and connected on 42.5 percent of his shots from the field.

Interestingly, Morant seemed apologetic for his behavior a couple of months ago. However, his recent actions show that there’s a problematic trend forming.

Memphis’ offseason is clearly off to a rocky start. One can only hope that Morant finds his footing and is eventually able to have a long and successful career in the NBA.
