Report: Milwaukee Bucks interested in Myles Turner

The defending NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks are starting to regain their mojo, and apparently, they’re looking to add yet another piece.

“We’re told Jerami Grant for Myles Turner was rejected by Indiana, and that Milwaukee has interest in Turner to play the Brook Lopez role,” wrote Steve Bulpett of Heavy.com. “But the Pacers may be sticking with Turner a while to see how he meshes with [Tyrese] Halliburton. ‘Indiana’s been trying to move Turner for three years, but everyone kept asking for [Domantas] Sabonis,’ said one GM.”

Turner is a center who is not only an outstanding shot-blocker but is also a 3-point shooting threat and solid rebounder.

Plus, at age 25, he could be a part of Milwaukee’s relatively young core for several more years.

Lopez was a key starter and role player for the Bucks last season, but he has been out this year due to back surgery.

The Bucks got off to a relatively slow start, but lately, they have been heating up, and they are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference.

They are only one game behind the first-place Miami Heat and starting to look a lot like the team that won it all last summer against the Phoenix Suns.

The Indiana Pacers have already made some wholesale changes, sending star big man Sabonis to the Sacramento Kings for multiple players, including guards Haliburton and Buddy Hield.

With the Heat playing well themselves, and the young Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers standing strong, the Bucks may feel they need to make a move to solidify their chances of repeating as world champs.

All in all, the race for the Eastern Conference title this June is getting interesting.
