Anthony Edwards accused of having secret baby mama

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards was put on blast on social media by a woman claiming that he is the father of her child.

The woman shared text messages allegedly between her and Edwards, sharing that she knew he was having a girl with another woman.

Edwards and his girlfriend Shannon welcomed their daughter, Aislynn, to the world in March 2024. According to People, the Timberwolves star and his girlfriend made their relationship public back in November 2020, the same year that the Wolves took him with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Back in March, the elder Edwards left a game against the Sacramento Kings due to the birth of the younger Edwards.

A two-time All-Star, the elder Edwards is coming off arguably the best season of his NBA career after he led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals.

During the 2023-24 season, the Timberwolves star averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc. He was named to an All-NBA team for the first time in his career, and he finished seventh in the voting for the league’s MVP award.

Just 22 years old, the elder Edwards has had to mature quickly in the NBA to become the face of a franchise that has playoff and NBA Finals expectations. The Timberwolves added Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert in a trade prior to the 2022-23 season, a sign that they were going all in on their current core.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft has responded by leading the Wolves to back-to-back playoff appearances since Gobert joined the roster. Minnesota has made the playoffs in three of the four seasons since drafting the elder Edwards.

Hopefully, the woman alleging that the elder Edwards is the father of her child doesn’t cause a distraction for him in the 2024-25 season. For now, the Timberwolves guard has yet to publicly speak out on the allegations.

The elder Edwards has a big offseason ahead of him, as he will compete with Team USA in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. It’s yet another honor for the young guard as he quickly becomes one of the best players in the NBA today.
