Karl-Anthony Towns claps back at Shams Charania for inaccurate reporting

The COVID-19 pandemic has been especially rough for Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns. The 25-year-old has lost several family members to the virus and recently battled it himself resulting in missing 13 games so far this season.

On Wednesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Towns is expected to return to action after missing an extended period of time.

Towns quickly refuted Charania’s report, saying he would see how he feels before deciding on playing against the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.

It comes as no surprise that Towns would be a bit sensitive about his playing status after battling the virus that has made such an impact on his life over the past year or so.

The whole situation has taken a toll on the Timberwolves star, and it is clearly a sensitive subject.

If Towns can get back on the floor tonight against the Clippers, it will be a welcome addition to a Timberwolves squad that has struggled all season long and is currently tied with the Detroit Pistons for the worst record in the NBA at 6-18.
