Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns had some major praise for his teammate Anthony Edwards following Minnesota’s Game 4 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Edwards was terrific in Game 4 for the Timberwolves, as he scored 24 points on just 14 shot attempts. Edwards also added four rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks in the win.
Towns has played with a ton of talented players in his basketball career at both the collegiate and NBA level. Some of his former and current teammates include Devin Booker (at the University of Kentucky), Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins, D’Angelo Russell and obviously Edwards.
The fact that the second-year wing takes the spot as the “most talented player” that Towns has shared the court with certainly is a major compliment.
This season, Edwards built off a strong rookie campaign to help lead the Timberwolves to the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference.
The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft averaged 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game in the regular season while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from beyond the arc. All of those numbers were an improvement from his stats in his rookie season.
Towns has been another driving force to the Timberwolves’ success this season, but the team will need both players to play at a high level in order to upset the Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs.
The Grizzlies and Wolves are currently tied at two games apiece in their first-round series. Game 5 of the series will take place on Tuesday night in Memphis.
