Nick Young says he can help Rudy Gobert find Draymond Green and ‘drop’ him after latest boxing video

Former Golden State Warriors guard Nick Young jokingly offered on social media to help Rudy Gobert get back at Warriors star Draymond Green.

“Aye @rudygobert27 I see you boxing , now all you gotta next , is roll up to Gil’s Arena, drop him while he talking sports and u good lol dm me for address 😂😂😂 I’ll leave the gate open or ‘we’can wait to ‘we’ play the warriors I can help you sneak in the locker room and we can get Draymond lol,” wrote Young.

A video recently surfaced of Gobert working on his boxing skills, something he is likely doing to help him train and get in shape for the 2024-25 NBA season.

Young, who was a part of the Warriors team that won the title in the 2017-18 season, appeared to be willing to help Gobert whenever the Minnesota Timberwolves play the Warriors.

Last season, Green and Gobert had an altercation during a game that ended up with Green putting the four-time Defensive Player of the Year in a headlock.

There is clearly some animosity between Green and Gobert, and this summer, the Warriors star called out Gobert for getting benched by France in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“France had a very interesting plot twist going on,” Green said at the time. “Big Rudy Gobert said he had surgery on his finger or something. France’s coach said he thought the matchups was an issue. And so, Rudy didn’t start because of the matchups.

“We don’t know what’s true. I don’t think we have any reason to believe Rudy’s lying, except for the coach saying that it was for matchups. And in the three minutes that Rudy checked in, Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander] started getting off. Wemby (Victor Wembanyama) had a rough night. But, Coach said, ‘I can’t have both of my bigs not playing great.’ And well, you decide who got to go. I know who I’d pick, but I’ll leave it to you to pick.

“But to be taken out of the lineup on any other team in the Olympics as an NBA player not named Team USA is kind of crazy.”

Team USA ended up beating France in the gold medal game at the Olympics, which certainly had to have hurt Gobert after helping the national team make it so far in the tournament.

While Green seems to have no problem attacking the Timberwolves big man, we haven’t seen Gobert retaliate on the court since the incident last season.

Instead, Gobert won a Defensive Player of the Year award for his play in the 2023-24 season and helped lead Minnesota to the Western Conference Finals. The Timberwolves ended up losing to the Dallas Mavericks in that series, but it was one of the best playoff runs the franchise has ever made.

Gobert is a polarizing figure since he’s not the best offensive player, but he has shown time and time again that he is an important defender on good teams (both in Utah and Minnesota).

Young clearly is having fun on social media by trying to instigate things between Gobert and Green ahead of the regular season.
