Life for many NBA stars is going to be quite unique for the time being.
As players have begun to enter the Walt Disney World Resort bubble in Orlando, Fla., a new report indicates that NBA players will be able access the theme park for after-hours activities.
“NBA players might not have access to Space Mountain or the Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean,” Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today reported.
“But the NBA has made arrangements with Disney to provide access to attractions and experiences at the massive theme park, including after-hours access to Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom, Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios and Test Track at Epcot.
“The NBA informed teams of ‘bookable experiences on the NBA campus at Disney’ in a memo delivered late Wednesday night. The NBA’s season restart is scheduled for July 30 at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida. By the end of Thursday, all 22 teams participating will be on campus.”
Zillgitt added that players will have the opportunity to book a number of different experiences during the daytime as well. Those experiences include golfing at three separate courses, fishing and boating trips, bowling and more.
Personal care professionals will also be available such as barbers, braiders, manicurists and pedicurists.
While life certainly won’t resemble the norm for the NBA players on the 22 teams who are entering the bubble, it doesn’t seem like there will be a lack of fun to be had.
It may seem less than ideal right now, but it is also possible that some NBA players will one day look back at this incredible experiment fondly.
