NBA world rips apart Texas governor for opening up state and lifting mask mandate

On Tuesday, Texas governor Gregg Abbott announced that he is completely opening up his state and ceasing the statewide mask mandate.

The polarizing decision was met with denunciation from the NBA world.

Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner, who was born in Texas, was not thrilled with the governor’s decision to open up the state.

In addition, former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins blasted Abbott on his bold announcement. Perkins, who resides in Texas, saw his house get pummeled during the recent winter storms.

Of course, the NBA is getting ravaged by coronavirus and healthy and safety protocols.

The league has had to postpone numerous games while players have missed dozens of contests. The stringent protocols have angered multiple players.

Surely, teams are unable to get into a rhythm with the constant twists and turns of the system.

The San Antonio Spurs, one of three NBA teams in Texas, recently announced that they would be allowing fans back into their arena. The Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks have already been hosting fans.
