It seems that rapper Percy Miller, who goes by the stage name Master P, is doubling down on his desire to coach the New Orleans Pelicans.

Recently, the New Orleans native said that he has just partnered with a sports agent, signaling his seriousness about landing the coaching gig.

“Right now, I just hired a sports agent,” Miller told TMZ Sports. “So, you know, to be an NBA coach, you have to have a sports agent. I hired a sports agent, one of the best in the world, Raymond Brothers. He’s the president of basketball for Roc Nation, and he’s from New Orleans.”

It is unclear if the Pelicans would even consider bringing in Miller as head coach. After all, he has no known previous coaching experience.

Miller did have a contract with two different NBA teams, the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors, in the late 1990s. But he failed to make the regular season roster for either squad.

The Pelicans need to look for a head coach who could help the young team reach the playoffs and give All-Stars Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram reasons to stay in New Orleans for a long time.
