Knicks insider reveals he has permission to say who let out ‘epic fart’ inside locker room

New York Knicks insider Fred Katz said that he has permission to name the player who let out an “epic fart” inside the team’s locker room prior to the Knicks’ Game 5 victory over the Indiana Pacers.

However, he won’t reveal the identity of the individual.

“I can’t say,” Katz said on who farted in New York’s locker room. “You know, it’s funny. I actually can say. I basically have gotten a go from the guy after the whole thing just went crazy, which I could not believe.”

Katz said the player who farted found it funny that the incident garnered so much media attention.

“I pretty much have permission to say who it was,” Katz continued. “The person who it was was extremely amused by the entire saga that followed. However, I’m not going to reveal it because I just — you know what? This is one of those things, has nothing to do with journalism. This has been told to me. I could very ethically say who it was. I could very ethically say who it was. This person doesn’t care — doesn’t care. However, I’m not going to ’cause I don’t want to.”

After the fart loosened up the Knicks’ locker room, New York put together one of its most impressive wins of the second-round series. At Madison Square Garden, the Knicks beat the Pacers by 30 points and outscored Indiana in every one of the four quarters of the contest.

A scoring barrage from star guard Jalen Brunson carried New York to a victory in Game 5. The 27-year-old scored a team-high 44 points on 18-of-35 shooting from the field and also chipped in seven assists.

The iconic franchise also received scoring contributions from Josh Hart, Miles McBride and Alec Burks, all of whom dropped 17 points or more in the squad’s blowout victory.

But despite the fact that the team that owns a 3-2 series edge in the NBA Playoffs goes on to advance 83.7 percent of the time, New York went on to lose the series in seven games after dropping Games 6 and 7.

The Knicks lost both Games 6 and 7 by double digits, as they lost Game 6 by 13 points and the deciding Game 7 by 21.

New York’s inability to string together stops against a dynamic Pacers offense ultimately spelled the team’s downfall. The Knicks allowed the Pacers to score 111 points or more in all but one game of the seven-game series, with the outlier being when Indiana finished with just 91 points in the aforementioned Game 5.

By eliminating the Knicks in seven games, the Pacers punched their first ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2014, but Indiana is currently in a 0-2 series hole versus the Boston Celtics.

Based on Katz’s recent words, it seems as if fans of the Knicks will not know who farted before Game 5 anytime soon.
