The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly are eyeting Sacramento Kings forward Nemanja Bjelica ahead of the March 25th trade deadline.
According to The Athletic’s Sam Amick, the Sixers are looking to add another shooter to their roster at the deadline.
“Nemanja Bjelica who has been out of Walton’s rotation since Jan. 9 and appears likely to be on the move,” Amick wrote. “The Sixers, who have long been tied to [Buddy] Hield in terms of interest, are known to be among the teams who are considering the 32-year-old forward who has shot 39 percent from three-point range in his six seasons.”
This season, Bjelica has appeared in just 10 games for the Kings. He is averaging 6.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
While his shooting numbers are down this season (just 23.8 percent from 3), Bjelica is a career 39.0 percent 3-point shooter who can stretch the floor at the power forward position.
The Sixers would love to add more shooters around stars Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, and Bjelica should be a cheaper option on the trade market.
Bjelica is in the final year of his contract, so if the Kings do decide to deal him, they will likely look at any draft compensation as a win.
The Sixers are 18-8 this season and the current No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
