After missing the last several games with an injury, Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard will return to game action tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It’s been another disappointing season for Portland, as it currently holds an 11-15 record and is struggling to stay in the playoff picture in the Western Conference.
The Timberwolves are also 11-15 and are hoping to return to the NBA playoffs. With young talented players such as Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards, it appears they may be within striking distance of doing so.
Lillard’s numbers are down significantly this season. He is averaging just 21.5 points a game on 39.7 percent shooting so far this year.
The Blazers fired general manager Neil Olshey just days ago, leading to renewed speculation that Lillard, and perhaps fellow starting guard C.J. McCollum, could be on the move soon.
