The NBA is finalizing an innovative initiative for the eight teams that not did quality for the 2019-20 season resumption in Orlando, Fla.

The league initially halted the season in March after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert contracted the novel coronavirus.

Numerous other players tested positive for the deadly virus in the aftermath of the announcement, making the idea of a resumption unlikely. However, after much creativity and care, the league found a way to manufacture a resumption in late July.

Only teams with playoff chances made the cut, though. As a result, several rebuilding teams were upset their guys wouldn’t be able to focus on player development.

Now, with the league’s proposal to hold a space for the eight teams that not make the first cut, all 30 teams will be able to get some basketball in.

The 2019-20 regular season is set to resume in late July in Orlando, Fla.
