Throughout his entire professional career, veteran big man Tristan Thompson has seemed to constantly be in the news for negative parts of his personal life.

It’s certainly tough dealing with the fame that comes with being a professional athlete, and it’s appeared as though Thompson has been in a lot of trouble during his time in the basketball world.

In addition, like any other person, he goes through personal tragedies that affect him deeply. He recently had to deal with the death of his mother, and he dedicated a heartwarming tribute on Instagram to her.

Losing a parent is always tough, especially for people who have loving relationships with their parents.

That seems to be the case with Thompson, who shared beautiful memories and photos of his mother in the Instagram post.

As for Thompson’s professional career, he seems to be transitioning toward an analyst role on television as he continues to be without an NBA team.

His last appearance in the league came during the 2021-22 season with the Chicago Bulls. Interestingly, he played for three different teams in the 2021-22 season and finished with averages of 6.0 points and 5.1 rebounds per game on 52.8 percent shooting from the field.

He spent many years with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team that drafted him with the fourth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He played a key role for the team in its first title in franchise history in 2016. Plenty of people will recall the 2016 NBA Finals in which the Cavaliers came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Golden State Warriors in epic fashion.

The University of Texas product is surely hoping that he will get another shot at making an impact and winning a title in the league, but for now, he’s undoubtedly more focused on healing. No one can blame him, and he should definitely take his time to make sure he’s fully healed before attempting to make it back to the league.
