Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has reportedly turned down the franchise’s max contract extension offer.
Instead, Gobert wants the Jazz to give him a supermax contract.
Gobert, 28, is one of the best big men in the NBA.
The international standout made the All-Star team for the first time last season. The center collected 15.1 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game last season.
In the Jazz’s 2020 first-round series against the Denver Nuggets, Gobert put up 16.9 points, 11.4 boards and 1.4 blocks per contest.
However, the Jazz fell to the Nuggets in seven games despite having a commanding 3-1 lead earlier in the series.
The Jazz recently inked rising superstar Donovan Mitchell to a supermax contract. The face of the franchise averaged a monster 36.3 points, 5.0 boards and 4.9 assists per game during the 2020 postseason.
