Kyle Kuzma goes nuclear on ‘delusional’ Spencer Dinwiddie after he heavily criticizes Wizards star

Washigton Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma and Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie continue to go at one another.

Dinwiddie reignited the feud on Wednesday by going after Kuzma as well as the Wizards for not making the playoffs.

“You know that you’re there shooting shots to try to get a contract,” Dinwdidie said. “You’re probably not even a third star really on a good team because if you were the [Los Angeles] Lakers would have kept you.”

Kuzma took note of Dinwiddie’s comments and responded on Twitter with a lengthy thread.

The 27-year-old obviously didn’t like his former teammate’s comments. Kuzma and Dinwiddie spent some time together on the Wizards during the 2021-22 season before Dinwiddie was shipped to the Dallas Mavericks in a midseason trade. The 30-year-old had recently been acquired by the Wizards during the summer of 2021.

Dinwiddie spoke recently about his short Wizards tenure, admitting he was confused due to a plethora of factors.

The feud between Kuzma and Dinwiddie initially picked up after a Jan. 24 game in which the Wizards narrowly beat the Mavericks 127-126. A free throw from Kuzma in the dying seconds of the game lifted Washington over Dallas.

Following the contest, Dinwiddie said that the Wizards were just trying to get paid and didn’t want to play winning basketball. Kuzma later clapped back.

Fans hoping to see the two face off against one another on the court will have to wait some time. Kuzma and the Wizards weren’t able to make it to the league’s play-in tournament and have gotten a head start on the offseason.

As for Dinwiddie and the Nets, they’re currently preparing to take on the No. 3-seeded Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs. Brooklyn is a pretty big underdog in the series, but Dinwiddie likely isn’t paying much attention to that. That first-round series is set to get underway on Saturday afternoon.

A one-time champion, Kuzma is expected to decline the $13 million player option he currently holds for the 2023-24 season. He’s likely going to receive a nice payday in free agency after recording 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season while connecting on 44.8 percent of his shots from the field and 33.3 percent of his 3-point attempts.

NBA fans will surely keep an eye on this feud heading into the offseason and next season.
