Superstar guard Russell Westbrook is now a member of the Washington Wizards, and he will apparently be changing his jersey number.

He will be switching to No. 4, and former Wizards center Marcin Gortat has given his blessing for the guard to do so.

Westbrook has worn No. 0 ever since his two seasons at the University of California, Los Angeles. However, he did wear No. 4 while at Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, Calif.

After playing his first 11 NBA seasons for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Westbrook was traded to the Houston Rockets last year.

But after a disappointing 2019-20 season, Westbrook wanted out, and the Rockets granted him his wish by dealing him to Washington for John Wall.

Now that Westbrook is teaming up with fellow star guard Bradley Beal, the Wizards may possess the best backcourt in the NBA.

With young productive bigs such as Thomas Bryant and Davis Bertans, the team seems poised to return to the NBA Playoffs this coming spring.
